This Privacy Policy explains how Scrut Technology Sdn. Bhd. (1231565-V) ("AutoCheck.JP", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use this website, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).

Personal data we collect

  • When you order a report: the vehicle's chassis number, your email address and, if you choose to give it, your name.

  • When you pay: payments are processed by our payment gateway, CHIP. We receive the payment status and a transaction reference. We never receive or store your card details.

  • When you donate: the amount and your email address.

  • When you use Market Price Check: your search and any details you add. If you ask us to contact you or send a buying inquiry, also your name, phone number, email address, budget and vehicle preferences.

  • When you track an order: your order number and email address, which we use only to find your order.

  • Automatically: your IP address and basic request details, which we use to keep the website secure and limit abuse.

How we use your personal data

  • To process your order and payment, and to email you your report and order updates.

  • To let you track an order and download your report.

  • To respond to your inquiries and data requests.

  • To protect the website and our customers against fraud, spam and abuse.

  • To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • CHIP, to process your payment.

  • Our vehicle data partners, to produce your report. We send them only the chassis number, never your name or contact details.

  • Cloudflare, which runs the security check on some of our forms.

  • Service providers that host this website, store files and send our emails on our behalf. They may only use your data to provide those services.

  • Authorities, where the law requires us to.

Transfers outside Malaysia

Some of our service providers process data outside Malaysia, for example vehicle records held in Japan and cloud hosting. Where we transfer personal data abroad, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to a standard comparable to the PDPA.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: a session cookie and a security token that our forms need to work. Cloudflare's security check may also set cookies to tell people apart from automated bots. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, including to meet legal and accounting requirements. Report download links expire 30 days after they are sent.

How we protect your data

This website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, report downloads use signed links that expire, and access to our systems is restricted to authorised staff.

Your rights

Under the PDPA, you may:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct personal data that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;

  • withdraw your consent, or ask us to limit how we process your data. We may then be unable to provide some services.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
